Intermas and the importance of cooperation for sustainable and responsible development!

Thanks Cluster Manager Acuiplus to receive us last week in Madrid where our Intermas Business Manager of Aquaculture Activity gave a speech about our concerns in terms of Sustainability in our activity and shared our new solutions with the participants of this meeting.

For more than 60 years, Intermas manufactures nets to provide solutions for a wide range of products. Always, considering the environment, and nowadays more than ever, it is one of the missions of Intermas Group. To offer environmentally friendly solutions.

For the Aquaculture activity, being environmentally friendly is even more relevant since the products are used in the marine environment.If products are not used correctly, they will damage directly the environment if they are left as waste. For instance, in case of bad weather conditions, misused, or simply due to human carelessness. Since 2008, Intermas Aquaculture cares about the recycling of the Oyster Bags, which are products with a long life cycle, but due to the factors mentioned above, they may end up as waste and damaging the environment.

That is why more than 11 years ago, Intermas annually recovers this product from our markets to give it a second use. Moreover, we keep working to develop more sustainable new solutions in the Aquaculture range; like tubular nets, Long Line, and Predator Netting, as they are also a real problem for the producers if after being used, they are not handled correctly.
