HISTORY

Origins

1957

Intermas, a great success story.

Mr Josep Mas founded a small company called Inyecciones Termoplásticas Mas in 1957 in Cardedeu (Barcelona), thus creating the basis for a leading company.

1960

Intermas produces the first tubular nets for packaging and wrapping and, without a doubt, contributes to modernising the exportation and sale of fruit and vegetables.

1966

Production of the first square mesh for the house and the garden.

1970

Intermas develops the first extrusion heads in three sizes, which represents a significant improvement of the possibilities of developing these products through different applications.

1971

Appearance of the first bags with handles, produced using extruded mesh. These bags allowed the presentation of the products and transportation from shop to home to be improved.

INDUSTRIAL EXPANSION

1973

Industrial expansion with the creation of a new production site at Llinars del Vallés.

1975

First production of bi-directional mesh, which led to a revolution in the gardening, industry and agriculture sectors, through various applications.

1981

Expansion of industrial activity, thanks to a strong investment made in favour of production means for the manufacture of Raschel woven mesh for packaging, gardening and agriculture.

DEVELOPMENT OF BUSINESS UNITS

1994

ISO 9002 quality certificate obtained.

1996

Development of the first drainage products: geocomposites formed from very hard-wearing mesh laminated with geotextiles.

1998

Intermas is the first Spanish company in the plastic transformation sector to obtain the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certificate.

INTERNATIONALISATION

2000

Acquisition of CELLOPLAST (France), the leader in the distribution of products for gardening and agriculture on the French market.

Rationalisation of production: transfer of all facilities to a single central head office, located at Llinars del Vallés (Barcelona, Spain).

2004

Construction of a new production unit for drainage mesh, which is intended for use in the public works sector.

2005

Acquisition of Nortène Technologies (France): specialist in the production of extruded and laminated mesh with a strong presence on the central European markets and a focus on sales in the industry, construction and aquaculture sectors.

2006

Acquisition of Magrotex: specialist in the production of industrial fabrics made from polyethylene, polyamide and polypropylene.

2007

Acquisition of Seifil Percan: specialist in exterior wood and artificial turf (gardening).

2008

Creation of Intermas Eastern Europe headquartered in Hungary and Investment by Jardins de Nortene.

2009

Creation of Intermas Polska.

2010

Acquisition of GMC, specialist in Engineering Projects for the installation of Green Walls, Gabion Walls, Acoustic Screens and Tunnel Sealing.

Launch of the Nortène brand for gardens.

CONSOLIDATION

2011

Acquisition of 70% of the Viscoret company, which is the main Italian manufacturer of orange mesh marking building sites and public works, amongst other products.

Construction of a new warehouse at Celloplast (France).

2012

Inauguration of the new Nortène Technologies factory at Lomme (France).

Transfer of the Spain gardening warehouse to a logistics operator specialising in "Retail" distribution.

Installation of the SAP management system within the Group.

2013

 

Opening of the Intermas Nets USA Inc. subsidiary in Florida. Its creation aims at reinforcing its presence in the United States and Canada, getting closer to the American market in order to offer its clients a more accessible and reliable service.

 

Lounching of the 2016 Elan Project which defines the corporate strategy and perspectives of the Group until 2016 in order to forecast the world economic, politic and social changes of a more and more complex and constantly evolving environment.

2014
2016

Intermasgroup continues its international expansion by strengthening its presence in Europe with the opening of a subsidiary in the Netherlands for Benelux: Intermas Netherlands B.V.

2017

Creation of a new company named Intermas Nets Recycling S.L.U. Intermas Group has acquired the productive assets of Reser Ecológico S.L.
